The Canadian Geotechnical Society and the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, invite you to the 14th Pan-American Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (PCSMGE), the 64th Canadian Geotechnical Conference (CGC) and the 5th Pan-American Conference on Teaching and Learning of Geotechnical Engineering (PCTLGE) at the Sheraton Centre Hotel in Toronto, Ontario, Canada from October 2 to 6, 2011.

The City of Toronto is the cultural, entertainment and financial capital of Canada. The Toronto area offers both scenic, entertainment and historical attractions, including exceptional fall foliage, Niagara Falls (one of the world’s greatest natural wonders), and many easily accessible cultural tours. Whether delegates are attracted to world class Broadway-style theatre productions, museums, cultural attractions, unique shopping districts, exceptional restaurants, ethnic neighbourhoods, or natural wonders, Toronto’s diversity of attractions ensures there is something for everyone. In addition to the technical program, the conference will include local tours, workshops, short courses and a partner program for guests.

We are also pleased to announce that the 5th Pan- American Conference on Teaching and Learning of Geotechnical Engineering will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2011 preceding the PCSMGE and the CGC. Outstanding keynote speakers, practical workshops and presentations will be used to explore teaching and learning methods, as well as the implementation of industrial practice sessions into the classroom.
